This is one of the best tasting and easiest recipes you can make from crescent rolls. It only takes minutes to lay out the crescent rolls and add your pizza sauce ( I used my sauce recipe which can be found on this site) and cheese. You can also add whatever toppings you like but I kept mine simple.
After laying the crescent rolls out in a sun formation spoon your sauce on. Keep the sauce close to the center so it doesn’t pour out the openings once it is folded and baked.
After you have added your sauce, you can add the mozzarella and sprinkle on the Parmesan cheese to your liking. I tried this with both mozzarella sticks and shredded mozzarella. I found the shredded cheese was more enjoyable since it was spread more evenly. However, whatever you have in the refrigerator will work.
At this point, I folded the legs in half and then folded them over the sauce and cheese. I pressed the dough on top into the bottom dough, trying to pinch it all together. As you can tell from the next picture, I could use some work on my pinching skills! After it is all folded over nicely, I brushed the pizza ring with the melted butter sauce. Yum! My mouth is watering just writing this. It should be baked at 400 degrees for about 7 minutes. Keep a close eye on it since it does not take long for the rolls to brown up.
When the rolls start to turn golden brown, the pizza ring is done and should be moved away from the oven so it does not continue to cook sitting on the stove top. I set the cookie sheet out on a cookie rack to cool. Once it had cooled off, I cut the ring where the lines suggest between each crescent roll.
The only thing left to do is plate it and enjoy!
