philly steak sliders 4

This is the prodigal child of the Philly Steak sandwich and a cheeseburger slider.  If you like them both then you will be thrilled with these little hand held treats!  I like making these little sandwiches because they are:

 3. WHO DOESN’T LOVE FINGER FOOD? (less dishes to wash)

When I have a lazy day and have not done any meal planning or food prep, I can pull a pack of sizzle steaks out of the freezer and get started (or better yet have the kids make them).  At $2 -$3.50/pack of sizzle steaks it won’t break the bank either!  The most expensive part of these little sandwiches are the little, itty, bitty buns, believe it or not.  At our Meijer’s store, they sell for $3-$4/pack depending if they are on sale or not.  Of course, if you have a discounted bread store near by you could probably save some money there.  In all reality, these little sandwiches are cheaper than taking your family through a fast food place and almost just as fast to make.  They are convenient, tasty and very versatile!  I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do!

Worcestershire sauce

1 pack of sizzle steaks

6 small sweet peppers

2 cloves of garlic, sliced very thin

8 ounces of Mozzarella, Provolone or Swiss cheese

12 slider buns (squeezed those buns for freshness)

A1 sauce

Cut the sizzle steaks into thin pieces.  Cook them in a non stick pan over medium heat.  Sprinkle the bottom of the pan with the Worcestershire sauce.  You can add the onions, peppers and garlic after the meat is nearly fully cooked.  Cook the onions and peppers just until they are tender.

While the meat is cooking, cover the inside of the bottom of the 12 buns with A1 sauce and the tops with mayonnaise.  When the meat, peppers and onions are done place it over the bottom buns.  Cover with cheese and place the top buns over them and cook at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
